YIPPEEEE...

Today I got my first Project29 ever in the mail! I was getting impatient there for a while as I saw everyone else getting theirs, but I knew that mine was probably travelling to Oz from the US so I had to just stay patient. And what a great parcel it was...thanks so much [info]apositivevoice! All the way from California, and it arrived here in one piece.

Inside was:
- two scented tea-light candles (I'm a candle freak)
- six saches of herbal tea (my son already asked for apple-cinnamon)
- a frog pencil-end thingamee
- a beautiful book of Edgar Allan Poe stories (I'm a reader!)
- A CD and some bookmarks(?)/brochures of an LA singer she loves.
- assorted pamphlets of things in LA
- a bottle cap
- a fantastic lizard pin...just awesome really...gonna go on my hat!
- a burns mini first-aid kit
- a little frog keyring (do you have something for frogs [info]apositivevoice?)
- stickers of various shapes and sizes
- a fat and chunky butterscotch lollipop (yum, can't wait)
- a mini dream-catcher (we have one over our bed)
- a pocket calendar from a place she works

- and last, but definitely not least, was a great little letter accompanying all this stuff that let me get an understanding of who sent it...way more important than what came in the parcel, in my mind!

I cannot believe how you fit so much into that envelope.

If you click on the pic (taken on our coffee table) it will grow to big size.

i know you do not know me but I am really interested and I saw on this site that posts the last 40 photos posted on LJ (http://fuzzysquid.com/LJ.php) the stuff sent you and I think that community sounds like so much fun.

So if you don't mind helping me out :)
if not i understand, I just thought I would try.

I'm just a new member here (this is my first ever project29 project) and so I'll need to look into how to nominate, but if you can tell me a bit more about you and what you like doing, or if you have any other experiences in being a good "mailer" (like maybe nervousness, or do you do mail art, etc) then I will be able to nominate you. And if you post the info here in a comment it will be easy for me to tell the co-ordinator where to look, ok?

YAY! Glad your first package got there okay!

As it is, i don't accept people who aren't actually friends with other people. We've been burned a few too many times. It sucks sometimes, but what can you do?

ok, that is good that you saw that entry then Deense...I'll refer him back to this entry if he gets back to me, but I might actually find out what he is into, and refer him to other mailing and mailart groups I frequent, and who knows, maybe he'll become a friend of mine and I can nominate him.

Just as an aside, I do have a couple of online friends I think would be great for this community, from my ATC trading, and I'm going to look into how to nominate them soon...

Absolutely. Those recs I can handle. Email me their email addys and theit lj names, and I'll send out a 'you are invited' message in about a week...
